Rights & Content Requests

The Institute publishes commentary and aggregated public opinion. It does not claim ownership of third-party works or likenesses, does not assert endorsement by any subject, and does not present its ratings as statements of fact.

Where an image requires attribution, that attribution is displayed with the subject. Where a rights concern is upheld, the Institute can remove a subject from public view and from rotation immediately, and can remove or replace an image or correct its attribution.

Some plates are images made with AI, on purpose. Each is labeled AI-GENERATED on the image itself, and none depicts a real person.

To act on a request, the Institute needs:

• the URL of the page or subject at issue;
• the subject, work or party you represent;
• the request type, from the list above;
• your name;
• an email address we can reply to;
• an explanation of the concern;
• any supporting information, such as license terms or proof of ownership.

Requests are filed through the submission form, choosing rights or takedown request. It asks for each of the items listed above. Requests are reviewed by the Institute directly and enter a private queue; requester details are held privately and are never published.

Requester details are held privately and are never published. Requests are recorded with a status of open, reviewing, resolved or rejected.

A rights request does not automatically require the deletion of historical research data. Where a concern is upheld, the Institute's preferred remedy is to withdraw a subject from public visibility while preserving the underlying statistical record, unless deletion is legally required.
